Episode 6:
It’s the most wonderful time of the year. However, it all starts with a tiff between the two lovebirds. As Jessica fiddles with her broken phone, her hubby plays a Christmas tune for her that he has recently recorded. Jessica laughs and says she doesn’t like it, which hurts Nick’s feelings.

The couple gets past the quarrel and it doesn’t stop Nick from having a brand new walk-in closet made for his wife for Christmas. The closet comes equipped with organizers for Jessica’s mess of clothes, which leaves us wondering if the gift is really for Jessica--or neat-freak Nick.

Jessica states that she and Nick “juggle both of the families” during Christmas time, and they will be celebrating with Nick’s family first. Before they get on the plane, Jessica’s luggage tests positive for explosive materials. She laughs as Nick makes one of his trademark remarks: “I always knew you were the bomb.”

Jessica has no idea what to get Nick for Christmas, so he suggests a hook-up guarantee: three times a week. Jessica seems to be concerned--that might not leave her enough time to shop.

As the Christmas festivities begin, Jessica watches in disgust as her husband consumes a meat pie made by his granny. The rest of the day goes smoothly, and the whole family poses for a group picture.

The next stop on the family tour was Jessica’s grandparents’ house. Jessica stands by and watches as everyone takes part in hanging lights and decorating the lawn. She’s saving her energy for the next day, Christmas Eve, when the Simpson family goes to her Aunt Sally’s house to sing Christmas songs. By the end of the day, Jessica is very tired from singing and eating venison, and she turns to Nick and says “Christmas in L.A., next year.” She may be a true Southerner, but she has turned into a California girl.

After a nice big breakfast on Christmas morning, Jessica is showered with gifts that include a brand new Mercedes, pink Uggs, and two diamond bracelets from Nick. That is incentive to go back home for Christmas next year. Poor Nick is not as lucky in the gift department and receives only a boxing trainer from his wife.

When the two return home, after a wonderful holiday week, Nick shows Jessica one last gift--her new closet. She is amazed at how organized it is, and thanks her husband profusely. One can assume, it will only be a few days before there is stuff all over the floor.

Episode 7:
"A-E-I-O-U!" That was Jessica's response in seventh grade history class when her teacher asked what the continents were. Jessica's come a long way since then.

This week Nick and Jessica travel to New York City. Jessica is shooting a campaign for her new "Dessert" line of edible beauty products. The only thing that is holding Jessica back from a stellar, sexy photo shoot is that her photographer only has one thumb and that makes her uncomfortable.

February is a busy month for the starlet because of the performances she must do at the Superbowl and The Golden Globes. However, despite the hectic schedule, Jessica still finds time to have her hair touched up at a trendy Madison Avenue salon. On their downtime, Jessica and Nick hang out in their hotel room and fight over who gets to be in control of the remote. Nick is a guy's guy and loves Sportscenter, while Jessica feels her knowledge of things (such as the continents) could get her onto Family Feud.

When the couple meets up with Nick's brother Drew and his wife, the conversation takes a turn for the worst when Nick informs his wife that new rumors have surfaced that she is pregnant. Jessica is calm about the situation and suggests that the idea of her being pregnant is illogical, because she wants to have a dog first.

Jessica finally gets to go to her photo shoot for "Dessert," where the concept is her licking cupcake icing off her finger. While that would be considered fun for anyone else, Jessica gets a stomachache midway through and throws up.

The shoot was rescheduled for Jessica, because they soon realized it wasn't the icing--it was a 24-hour flu. In her usual melodramatic way though, Jessica crawls to her hotel room on her hands and knees because of her condition.

By the end of the episode, Jessica informs her husband that babies are delivered by seagulls, which he endearingly corrects to "storks." As if Nick's patience hasn't been tested enough, he continues to help Jessica out when she calls from the lunch table with her mother and interrupts his alone time at ESPN Zone, to ask about the origins of different kinds of pork. The laughs never stop with Nick and Jessica, and neither does the meaningless trivia.

Episode 8:
It’s a dog eat dog world in the land of Nick and Jessica. While Jessica looks up types of pet dogs and their prices, Nick makes himself a sandwich on moldy bread. This may be the first time Jessica has done research while Nick doesn’t pay attention.

Jessica says she likes her mother’s new dog, Maggie, because she is small and prissy and big dogs have big tongues. And for Jessica, that just isn’t acceptable. While Jessica and her mother root for the smaller dog, Nick’s brother Drew advises him to get a big dog that can take care of Jessica when Nick isn’t home. That seems to be an airtight excuse to get Nick’s dream dog--a husky.

Jessica faces a few obstacles when she arrives in New Orleans to sing the National Anthem at the Sugar Bowl. First, seeing a nasty cockroach in her limo leaves Jessica tongue-tied and propped on Nick’s lap. Jessica’s second problem comes when she receives a phone call that her hairdresser cannot make it to New Orleans to primp her locks because of some mishap with another client's credit card being denied. That’s definitely some diva drama.

As Jessica sits in the car in tears about showing off her unkempt hair to millions of people, Nick decides to give her a pep-talk and tell her she is being ridiculous because life is about more than just hair, and she will be beautiful no matter what. Where’s that Husband of the Year award?

Jessica cannot fathom how the other client's credit card could ever be denied, but rather than dwell on the Canadian queen’s banking problems, she travels from beauty shop to beauty shop in New Orleans, looking for the perfect hair extensions. Once she finds the right weave, and puts it all in place, it’s time to sing for the entire stadium.

When Nick and Jessica return from their trip to New Orleans, they meet with a couple who wants to sell them two beautiful huskies. Before the couple arrives, Jessica tries--and fails--to make pancakes for breakfast. Nick overlooks the lack of cooking ability and is in his glory when the two dogs come to the house and play in his yard, but Jessica is a bit skeptical about the dogs and complains they will be too big.

When Nick tries to explain that he and Jessica could get one husky and one smaller dog, stating that it would form camaraderie between two different types of dogs, Jessica becomes confused because in her mind, “camaraderie means attention.”

As usual, fair is fair in the Newlywed house, so Jessica gets the chance to look at smaller dogs--and falls in love with them. She feels smaller dogs are easier to take care of because they have smaller poop--it’s a good theory. However, dogs will be dogs, and the couple is left at a standstill in the dog department.

Episode 9:
Nick and Jess are at it again and this time they’re headed to the slopes. As soon as they get there, Jess starts complaining that it's freezing. She sucks it up, though, and heads out to try some snowboarding with her hubby. Surprisingly, the normally whiney Jessica gives it a fair shot and, even though she keeps landing on her butt, she keeps trying. After a little while, Jess decides her butt is way to numb and calls it quits.

The next day it's Nick’s turn to try some skiing. This time it's definitely Nick who's being a total baby. He falls one time and throws his poles down on the ground, which bounce back up and hit him in the head. Nick then proceeds to stomp off leaving Jessica all alone. When is Nick going to learn it's okay not to get it right on the first try?

After a long day on the slopes, Jessica decides to play homemaker and cook some chicken for dinner. This sounds like a completely simple task...but not for our Jessica. The chicken breasts seem unusually large to her, so she starts to worry that they will not cook all the way. You'd think a simple solution would be to cook them until they are done, but Jessica has a better idea. She decides to whip out a good old pair of scissors and starts cutting up the chicken. Thankfully, Nick’s brother relieves her of her butchering duties and finishes the chicken.

The after-dinner conversation starts to get a little racy when the topic turns to condoms. Jess (being Jess) claims to be unaware that there are different types of condoms. She does, however, claim to know a few things about various toys but only what she's heard from other people--not through her own experience.

Lets not forget Jessica’s most recent annoying habit...every time she wants to say the word God she says Goh instead and it is driving everyone crazy. They keep begging her to stop, but she doesn't seem to think there is anything wrong with the word. Just another way for Jess to get a rise out her hubby and get a little extra attention from everyone else.

Episode 10:
Valentine’s Day is a day for couples to share their love and appreciation for each other. However, for Jessica Simpson, Valentine’s Day is just another occasion to spend a lot of money.

Jessica is going all out on this Hallmark holiday, and purchases a plethora of gifts for Nick that includes a rented Ferrari, a chef to help her cook dinner for him, a violinist, and a server. Her shopping trip starts in Hustler Hollywood, though, and there is no doubt whatever she buys it will be Nick’s favorite item.

While Jessica is waiting for Nick’s presents to begin arriving, Nick becomes nervous because he “likes to be in control.” He obviously hates surprises and is very apprehensive about the day. When the doorbell rings, Nick stands by the front door and refuses to open it for the mysterious man, until Jessica prods him a little. To Nick’s pleasant surprise, the man is there to deliver a sleek, black Ferrari for Nick to drive for the day.

The next to arrive is the professional chef that Jessica hired to help her cook dinner. However, upon seeing his live lobsters, she gives up cooking and lets the nice Italian chef do all the dirty work. While Jessica stands in the kitchen and watches the chef in bewilderment, Nick goes out with Drew for a relaxing drive and some time at the golf range.

Jessica’s fiasco in the kitchen continues when the chef asks her to kill the lobsters, in his thick Italian accent. Jessica cannot, and has failed yet another cooking mission.

Nick and Drew continue their day of sports and play a one-on-one game of b-ball, and Jessica, her friend, and Lea, try to figure out how to assemble a formal table, add flower arrangements, and set the table with formal dinnerware.

The server and the violinist arrive to complete the dinner arrangements, and Nick finally comes home. Jessica is all dolled up, and Nick runs to take a shower while she slaves over reheating the chef’s masterpieces.

They enjoy their dinner, and once they are done, it’s time for Jessica to clean-up--on gifts that is. Nick gives her a beautiful bouquet of flowers and a pair of platinum and diamond earrings. She jokingly calls him her “sugar daddy,” and the two relax with an after-dinner drink.

This Valentine’s Day in the Simpson household is definitely one for the record books, and it slowly comes to an end with a serenade from Nick, and Jessica quietly walking up the stairs, to go to bed.
